Who are the teachers?

Founder, and former class teacher, Emily Shepherd-Cross will lead the classes with a teaching assistant.


What age are the classes designed for?

On Tuesdays, we teach children in Year 5 and 6 and on Thursdays we teach children in Year 2, 3 and 4.


Where does the club take place?

Clay Cobo Studio, 250 Goldhawk Rd, London W12 9PE. Directly opposite Ravenscourt Park.


Do children need any previous pottery experience?

No experience is needed. Classes are designed for beginners as well as children who already enjoy working with clay.


What should my child wear?

Pottery can be messy. Aprons are provided, but we recommend children wear comfortable clothes that parents do not mind getting a little dirty.


How many children in a class?

There is a maximum of 8 children per class, every child receives personalised support and plenty of hands-on experience with clay.


Are materials included?

Yes. Clay, tools, glazes, firing and tuition are all included in the course fee.


Can my child bring a snack?

Yes, children are welcome to have a nut-free snack from home. We will have a short break halfway through the session. Children should also bring a water bottle.


When will finished pottery be ready to collect?

Pottery usually takes 3–6 weeks to dry, be kiln fired, glazed and fired again. Parents will be notified as soon as work is ready for collection. Pottery created for specific occasions, such as Christmas, will be completed and ready in time for the event.


How are children dropped off and collected?

Sessions run from 3:50pm to 5:45pm. Children should be collected promptly at the end of the session. Children must be collected by a parent, carer or authorised adult and are not permitted to leave independently. As the studio is prepared for a 6pm class, prompt collection is greatly appreciated.


Are staff DBS checked?

Yes. All staff hold an enhanced DBS check and have appropriate safeguarding training. The safety and wellbeing of every child is our highest priority.


Is Little Potters London insured?

Yes. Little Potters London holds appropriate public liability insurance for all classes and activities.
